Funding for professional service firms

The hours are on the timesheet. They are not in the bank.

What you sell is hours, and an hour sits unbilled from the minute it is worked until somebody writes it up. The retainer runs out before the job is done and the work does not stop, so the file keeps growing with nothing invoiced against it. That is finished work you cannot spend.

Where the month actually goes.

What the firm pays before it collects.

There are only 3 ways a business borrows money.

Your bank knows one of them. If it said no, you likely still qualify under another. That is not a pitch, it is how lending is structured.

1

On your revenue

The deposits in the account back working capital, and invoices already sent to business clients can be advanced against. Either way, billed work turns into money before the client's terms are up, and neither product has a score minimum.

Typical: 4+ months in business · $10K+ monthly sales · no minimum credit score

On your credit

The line is approved on your credit profile. You draw against it to carry a new hire through the months before their work collects, then pay it down when the billing catches up. Only the part you have drawn carries interest.

Typical: 6+ months in business · 600+ FICO for a line of credit

3

On what you own

There is less iron in a firm than in a shop, so this is the narrowest of the three paths here. It still reaches servers, workstations and the phone system, and if the need is bigger than the line, office equipment the firm owns outright can secure it.

Typical: 580+ FICO · no minimum time in business for equipment

Business Line of Credit

A pool of money you draw from when you need it and pay interest only on what you actually use. Pay it back and it is available again. It suits a business whose gaps come and go rather than one that needs a single lump sum.

Accounts Receivable Financing

Borrow against invoices you have already issued but not yet been paid for. If your customers are other businesses on 30, 60 or 90 day terms, this turns that waiting period into cash now. No credit score floor, because the strength of the file is your customers paying, not your personal profile.

Minimum qualifications

  • Aging report required
  • $500,000 annual gross sales
  • No minimum FICO

What's needed

  • Signed application

Working Capital

Cash against the money already moving through your bank account. It is the fastest option on this page and the one with no credit score floor, because it is underwritten on your deposits rather than your FICO. Use it for materials, payroll, rent or a job you need to start before you get paid for the last one.

Who you're dealing with.

We're Funding Access Platform, an independent funding referral service. We work with accounting, legal, insurance and real estate firms because your whole balance sheet is people and a client list, and a bank would rather lend on a building.

We don't lend money ourselves. We pass your request to ROK Financial, an A+ rated, BBB accredited marketplace that has funded over two billion dollars in business financing, and their team works your options across all three paths.
